There’s a common misconception that Further Education and Training is just a “back-up” option after the Leaving Cert, or that it’s limited to apprenticeships. In reality, it offers an extensive range of courses across the country.
Our goal was to challenge that perception and position Further Education and Training on par with third-level education. We wanted learners to feel in control of their future, empowered to choose a path that suited them, rather than one that felt like the “expected” route.
The solution was simple: put the courses, and the students, centre stage.
What followed was a weeks-long photography expedition across Ireland. We travelled everywhere from Kerry to Mayo to Waterford, visiting campuses and working with real students to capture authentic, hands-on moments of learning.
The tagline reflects the creative, practical and future-focused nature of the courses. The graphic patterns drew inspiration from early stone carvings, reinforcing that idea of making, of shaping something with your own hands and creating your own path.
Together, the design, language and photography created a contemporary and authentic representation of Further Education and Training — one that reframed it not as a second choice, but as a powerful first one.
